WakeHero is currently in beta. By creating an account or using WakeHero, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the app.

TABLE OF CONTENTS
1. WHO CAN USE WAKEHERO
You must be at least 18 years old to use WakeHero. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
2. WHAT WAKEHERO IS (AND ISN'T)
WakeHero is a journaling tool with AI-powered reflections. It is:
- A place to write freely and receive pattern-based insights across your entries
- A personal companion for self-reflection and goal tracking — not a therapist, counsellor, or medical provider
WakeHero is not a substitute for professional mental health care. AI-generated insights are reflective observations, not clinical advice. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or crisis line.
3. YOUR ACCOUNT
Creating an account: You can sign up with an email and password or via magic link. An account is required to use WakeHero — all features require an authenticated session.
Account security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. Notify us immediately at hello@wakehero.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
One account per person: You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their knowledge, or use automated means to create accounts.
Termination: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your settings.
4. FREE TRIAL AND PAID SUBSCRIPTIONS
Free trial
New accounts include a free trial with full AI insight access. After the trial limit, AI features require an active subscription. The trial terms may be adjusted before or after beta ends.
Paid subscriptions (when billing goes live)
- Monthly plan: £2.99/month
- Yearly plan: £21.99/year (~£1.83/month)
Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
Refunds
We offer a 7-day refund on new subscriptions if you are not satisfied. Contact us at hello@wakehero.com within 7 days of your first charge. We do not offer prorated refunds for cancellations mid-period after the refund window.
Beta period
During beta, Stripe billing is not active. Pricing and trial terms described above will apply when billing launches. We will notify users before billing goes live.
You own your writing
Your journal entries belong to you. We claim no ownership over anything you write in WakeHero.
What you grant us
By using WakeHero, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service — including sending entries to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate insights.
What you are responsible for
You are solely responsible for the content you write. You agree not to use WakeHero to:
- Store or transmit content that is illegal, threatening, or harassing
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the service
- Circumvent any access controls or trial limits (e.g., creating multiple accounts to extend a free trial)
We do not actively monitor journal entries for content violations. Your writing is private.
Deletion
When you delete your account, your entries and associated data are deleted from our servers within 30 days. We are not responsible for recovering content you delete.
6. AI INSIGHTS
Insights are generated by Claude (Anthropic's AI) based on your recent journal entries. By requesting an insight, you consent to your entries being sent to Anthropic's API for that purpose.
No guarantees on accuracy: AI insights are pattern observations — they may be imprecise, incomplete, or occasionally off-base. Do not treat them as facts about yourself.
No professional advice: Insights are not psychological, medical, or therapeutic advice. WakeHero is not a licensed mental health service.
7. AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES
WakeHero is provided "as is" during beta. We make no guarantees of uptime, data persistence, or feature availability. We may:
- Change, add, or remove features at any time
- Adjust the free trial limit before or after beta
- Modify pricing before billing goes live (with notice)
- Discontinue the service (with reasonable notice and a data export window)
We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice.
8. DISCLAIMERS
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- WakeHero is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components
- AI-generated content is provided for informational and reflective purposes only — we make no representations about its accuracy or fitness for any purpose
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WAKEHERO AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim, or (b) £10 GBP.
10. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WakeHero and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the service.
11. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms will first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at hello@wakehero.com. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
